2022 Volvo XC90 is a new generation of Volvo XC90. It is a kind of luxury crossover SUV type. This type of car has been produced and marketed by Volvo Cars since 2002.

New Feature on 2022 Volvo XC90
Volvo is developing advanced features created within the framework of autonomous driving features, even though the autonomous driving feature is not new in the automotive world.
The self-driving feature is one of the highlights of automotive technology development in the second half of the past decade.
Volvo is working with Luminar to develop autonomous driving technology for future Volvo vehicles. This feature is the newest in the 2022 Volvo XC90. Its name is LiDAR, which stands for Light Detection and Ranging.
Apart from being offered as an Electric Vehicle, the third-generation of Volvo XC90 will also get plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid variants with a gasoline engine.
However, the 2.0-liter turbodiesel variant will disappear from the line-up as Volvo plans to remove diesel engines from its line-up. Using two electric motors, the four-wheel-drive car will have a power of 402 HP and 660 Nm of torque, and it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds with a maximum speed of 180 km/hour.
What is LiDAR?
LiDAR is a technology that can measure the distance between an object and another by using laser light. This technology will measure the space of an object that is approached or left behind (in front or behind) then the sensor will function to calculate how close the object is to the car.
Volvo products that already use these technological features are new generation Volvo cars that use the latest SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) 2 architecture.
The new SPA 2 platform will be ready when production starts in 2022. Toyota plans to install the Luminar LiDAR on the front roof of the car. When the technology is ready, the software will be updated to support autonomous driving if consumers want it.
We need to know that Volvo has warned that self-driving can only be used on toll roads. Therefore, it will be supported by the Highway Pilot feature if the tool has been verified as safe for use in any location and conditions. LiDar technology will also be used to enhance Volvo’s Advanced Driver Assistance System feature.
