2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Review; Release Date, Price & Specs

2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Review

The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is one of the most anticipated future cars. While the production date is still not announced, we have some points to tell you.

Of course, we will also compare it with the 2020’s Cadillac CT5-V, which hasn’t been officially introduced to the entire world. More than anything, this car is such a luxury we should treasure and anticipate.

What do we know so far about New CT5-V Blackwing?

Cadillac has shown a teaser of its newest CT4-V and CT5-V. All we can take from the teaser is a sedan and a steering wheel. But this can be an excellent place to start.

We all agree that Cadillac is always a luxury. Coming with a luxury sport sedan concept, the steering wheel is handsomely wrapped with high-quality leather.

Carbon fiber is another thing we can take from the teaser picture released by Cadillac. Other than that, the steering wheel features a red center marker that makes the steering experience much more controlled.

Judging from the pic teaser, a button with a silver and red V look on the left steering wheel is presumably the trigger to give the maximum track attack. On the right side, the Performance Traction Management button sits quietly.

According to a source, this car would be the fastest car ever from Cadillac lineups. The digital speedometer shows that the vehicle can reach 200 mph and expected more, which tops the top speed of the current CTS-V. The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is also available in the manual shifter.

Other things we can expect from the 2022 CT5-V Blackwing

As has been casually mentioned earlier, we also want to bring in the 2020 CT5-V Blackwing to this review. This car hasn’t been officially released to the public as well.

The price is estimated, starting at $85,000. This also means that the 2022 version is expected higher than the 2020 version.

The CTS-V itself is well-known for its performance powerhouse, which will always be the forte feature for the successors. The car is equipped with a V-8 engine that produces excellent speed and power.

There might not be too many updates on styling and interior design. But surely, this car would be a close rival for Mercedes AMG C63, BMW M3, and Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.

To beat those sport sedans, Cadillac provides brutal acceleration and brilliant handling-and-ride in a pack. Seeing how the speedometer hits 200 mph is such a blatant sign about the speed and acceleration.

It is expected to be only one trim since the CT5-V is designed to be a sportier trim level of the standard CT5. On the other hand, the “Blackwing” describes the hyper performance with the all-out version.

If we compare the 2022 and 2020 versions, we cannot see much since the 2020 version is expected to be on the road in late 2020. But as far we all know, the CT4-V Blackwing would be cheaper after all.

2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Interior & Features

Checking out the interior part, it is expected that the new CT5-V Blackwing features the standard CT5. It provides a generous interior with a bunch of nice stuff and features.

Having a luxury sedan with a sport speed is what many people want. On the other hand, this car is designed to feed that kind of ego.

The standard CT5 interior is simply a mix of various materials, even though some are fine. Hopefully, the newest CT5-V is dressed better since the entry price is also expected much higher.

On the other hand, the rear trunk might be featuring the same shape and size as the standard CT5. To help to improve the structural rigidity, eliminating the rear seat’s folding feature would be a good idea.

Features

According to some rumors, the standard safety features include automated emergency braking by detecting pedestrians, warning of lane departure along with the lane-keeping assistant, and adaptive cruise control. These features are also expected to be featured in the 2022 version.

Talking about infotainment and connectivity, the newest car is expected to adopt the same unique infotainment system as the previous car. It includes a standard 10-inch touchscreen display, rotary controller, and CUE interface.

The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is still a mystery even though we’ve revealed a tiny part of it.
