2021 Infiniti qx70 is a luxury crossover SUV that competes along with BMW X4, Mercedes GLC Class, and Lexus RX. Different from Truck based SUV, Infiniti wanted to fill the gap between MPV and SUV.
It utilizes Nissan 350Z chassis as the base for this SUV. It makes the handling and driving performance to be similar to a sports car. It is formerly named Infiniti FX in 2003-2013. There are FX35, FX3,7, and FX50 that precedes QX70. The QX70 was unveiled in Geneva motor show in 2013, to be later on sale.
2021 Infiniti QX70 Redesign
The Design of the car is quite streamlined. Many rounded curves and smoothen edges make this car looks elegant and graceful. It helps much for the aerodynamics to fight against in drag resistance. The headlamp suits the rounded design with little sharp nuances to contrast as if it’s hiding something. Beneath the tamed looks, there is the wild engine with a sharp rigid suspension.
The engine used in this SUV is the same engine that running on Skyline and 370z. It produces 325 HP and 267 lb-ft torque which is fairly strong for its market. The Absence of turbo means that the engine is easy for maintenance. Without turbo, the engine will also last longer, as the engine compression will be fairly lower and fewer things to go wrong. This engine is also equipped with VVEL technology. It helps to create torque in the down ends while letting the engine breathe free on the high RPM. Moreover, the dual intake and exhaust create a unique sound that’s been the signature of Infiniti.
To deliver such power and torque, the engine is equipped with seven-speed automatic transmission. However, the transmission is not as quick as its competitor. It shifts slowly especially on the downshift. It still gets the job done, though. The pull from the engine feels responsive yet smooth and linear because of this automatic transmission.
The fuel consumption of 2021 Infiniti qx70 is rated differently for AWD and RWD variants. The RWD consumes 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. While the AWD model consumes 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. Such a strong engine needs a lot of fuel, indeed.
Nimble and Responsive Handling
As mentioned before, the chassis of this car is taking a sports car as a base model. The chassis and suspension are quite rigid to go cornering without much rolling. The well-tuned suspension could deal with tight turn without much swaying. The tire could tread well over the road because of the stiff suspension. Steering is also quite responsive. The driver feels connected as the front tire is turning. But it comes at the cost of comfort. The stiff suspension means that a ride on a bumpy road can be rough.
2021 Infiniti QX70 Price, Financing and Lease Deals
As of last released in 2017, it would be very hard to find the new old stock. The second-hand car is starting from $20,000 to $40,000. With $23,000 prices, which is the average price, it’s estimated that the financing plan will be around $470 per month. While for leasing, the price cost around $250 per month. Infiniti qx70 is a great way to get the handling and performance of a sports car in an SUV package.
