2021 Ford Flex Update, Redesign, Price & Release Date [ updated ]

2021 Ford Flex Redesign & Changes

2021 Ford Flex is unlikely to happen because the automaker has decided to end this car last month. This would be another discontinued vehicle after the Lincoln MKT was also announced to stop production this year. Interestingly, both are manufactured in the same plant.

Both Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT are manufactured in Oakville, Ontario plant. Because of this discontinuation decision, 450 workers are probably lied off in early 2020. Later, the plant will keep on manufacturing Lincoln Nautilus and New Ford Edge. Meanwhile, Flex’s discontinuation has been recently revealed by Unifor.

Previously, it was said that the 2020 model year would be the last line of the Ford Flex’s production. This decision is not surprising at all since Flex has been sold slowly in the past few years; especially after the automaker determines to stop manufacturing many cars.

Ford decided to only produce Mustang when it comes to pickups and SUVs. 2020 Ford Flex release date this year would mark the end of this car’s model. Although the car has ended its production in the middle of 2019, the new Flex would be available until 2020.

2021 Ford Flex Update – The Future of Ford Flex

Instead of a true crossover, the Flex is more like a tall wagon. Then, in the market, it was sold as a family minivan rather than an SUV. Indeed, it is pretty attractive for buyers before, but it doesn’t seem to be that way nowadays.

But still, Ford Flex is one of the best vehicles we have ever seen in the market. Its quirky appearance and great performance are worth to be appreciated. Even the 2016 model of this car that has a 3.5L EcoBoost engine could be considered as the best.

However, unfortunately, its amazing performance doesn’t sell well. That’s why the future of Flex is becoming even more unclear after that. And for this reason, we cannot expect something like the Ford Flex 2021 release date because the automaker has decided to end its minivan.

Even if the Flex finally comes back to the market, it is supposed to be as cool as before. Then, it might be one of the most futuristic and modern wagons you can see in a nearby dealer. Plus, there should be other interesting points offered.

Then, what is offered by Ford for its final model year of Flex? In terms of exterior, the automaker has added two more color choices to its Flex. The two colors are Stone Gray and Agate black. Meanwhile, White Gold and Shadow Black are not obtainable anymore.

Moreover, the trim levels remain the same as Limited, SEL, and SE. What makes its different from the previous model year is mostly in its interior design, but it is not much too. One of them is in the power converter outlet.

It is safe to say that the new Flex is similar to its predecessor. You can’t even find a special ‘final edition’ trim offered by the automaker. It is a bit disappointing. However, it is understandable at the same time since there’s nothing to comment about Ford Flex specs.

What makes it unsatisfactory is the fact that there are only 20,000 to 22,000 units of Flex sold since it was released to the market. This result is not remarkable, especially if we compare the Flex’s sales with the Edge crossover that is sold around 134,122 last year.

Engine Specification and Performance

If you are still interested in the new Ford Flex, expect to enjoy its 3.5L Ecoboost engine that comes standard in all trim levels. Its performing ability is supported by a smart all-wheel-drive to improve handling and exploit traction. It also helps the Flex to run in various circumstances.

Moreover, adaptive cruise control comes as standard equipment in the new Ford Flex. This feature makes it possible for drivers to control their speed by detecting how the traffic is going on ahead. Blind Spot Information System is also obtainable as a standard feature in this new Flex.

If the 2021 Ford Flex comes true, it might also feature Active Park Assist. This feature allows the driver to make parking easier than ever. You don’t need to dread parallel parking anymore when driving this new Flex thanks to this Active Park Assist feature.

Besides, the new Flex is also equipped with a functional rear-view camera. Also, you could drive confidently as well thanks to the bold style of this new Flex. The automaker claimed that the car is designed for potential buyers who value comfort, functionality, and style.

2021 Ford Flex Price and Lease Deals

To behind the wheel of the new Ford Flex, you need to pay $30,495 for the base SE trim level. The standard version is capable to accommodate up to seven passengers. This Ford Flex is still available until the mid of 2020.

In case you’re planning to lease the car, the best deal to lease the base SE version is starting at $252 per month. Meanwhile, the SEL that is sold starting at $33,290 would be available in a monthly payment of $246.

Then, the top-tier Ford Flex price is starting at $38,790. This price is applied for the Flex Limited that is equipped well with its top-tier level packages. To lease the Flex Limited, you need to pay $314 per month for 3 years.

In conclusion, the latest Flex released this year would mark the end of this model. Even though it is supposed to be a goodbye-model for the brand, Ford doesn’t offer any special edition trim for it. That’s all everything about the 2021 Ford Flex.
